Getting Started

What is Chain of Legends?

Chain of Legends is a strategy-driven Web3 game where you build a kingdom, manage resources, train armies, and take part in adventures, marketplace trading, and cooperative guild play.

Can I start playing without investing?

Yes. You start with an operational Level 0 CLEG Mine, and a free Desert Land is available in the Marketplace. Daily quests, campaigns, and referrals offer other ways to take part and earn.

What should I do first as a new player?

Complete the New User Journey, then try Dungeon Level 1 with the troops you receive. Assign Lands to mines for passive production, develop your buildings, and explore the Marketplace and higher adventures as your kingdom grows.

Where can I play?

The game runs at chainoflegends.com. Sign in there to manage your kingdom, send adventures, and trade.

Resources & Economy

What is CLEG?

CLEG is the game’s main on-chain token and its primary withdrawable economic resource. Players can buy, sell, and withdraw CLEG; other in-game value can be converted through mining, adventures, referrals, or Marketplace sales.

How can I earn CLEG?

Documented paths include CLEG Mine production, Marketplace sales, referral rewards, Dungeons, and Treasure Island. Arena offers an indirect path: earn Blood Gems, buy eligible items in the Arena Shop, then sell those items on the Marketplace.

Does Arena pay CLEG directly?

No. Standard Arena matches award Blood Gems and experience, not CLEG. Arena Shop items that are eligible for trading can be sold on the Marketplace for CLEG, so this is an indirect path.

What are Stone and Iron used for?

Stone and Iron are mined by assigning Lands to their respective mines. Both resources can be traded on the Marketplace and used for building upgrades, including Treasure Island defensive X-Bows.

What are Blood Gems and Energy?

Blood Gems are an Arena reward spent in the Arena Shop. Energy is required to enter monetized Arena matches through the Arena Camp; the cost depends on the power tier you choose.

What is Ember, and how do I get it?

Ember is associated with CLEG burned in the game. Documented sources include Instant Upgrade actions and deleting troops. Ember is spent in the Ember Shop; it is not mined or looted like Stone or Iron.

Why do mines need Lands?

All three mine types—CLEG, Stone, and Iron—need Lands assigned before they produce resources. Production runs on a 24-hour cycle. Your starting Level 0 CLEG Mine is already operational.

Adventures

What adventure modes are available?

Dungeons are solo PvE adventures with automatic combat. Treasure Island combines collection with PvE, cooperative raids, and PvP island occupation. Arena is a live mode with manual PvP and PvE combat.

How are Dungeons different from Treasure Island?

Dungeons are solo PvE progression through fixed levels. Treasure Island adds a collection phase, cooperative raid types, and PvP: occupied islands can become visible and attackable after enough time has passed.

Can I control troops during a Dungeon run?

No. Choose your troops, formation, and targeting before the run. Dungeon combat then plays automatically, without mid-battle troop control.

How long does a Dungeon adventure take?

A run takes about 24 hours for the outward journey and about 24 hours to return—roughly 48 hours in total. Rewards can scale with participation and level.

How much HP do troops need for an adventure?

Troops need more than 50% HP to enter a Dungeon or Treasure Island adventure. A troop that reaches 0 HP during an adventure returns to the Barracks for recovery.

Can other players attack my Treasure Island?

Yes, during the collection phase. An island becomes visible and attackable after enough time has passed; research can reduce how early it appears to other players.

When is Arena open?

Arena follows a repeating four-hour schedule: one hour open, followed by three hours closed. Normal Arena matches can only be started during an open window.

What is the difference between Free and Monetized Arena?

Free Mode has a 100,000 total squad-power cap and does not use Energy. Monetized Mode uses troops placed in the Arena Camp, requires Energy based on tier, and offers higher Blood Gem rewards.

Combat & Troops

Which modes use automatic or manual combat?

Dungeon and Treasure Island battles are automatic after you prepare your troops and formation. Arena is manual: you deploy and move units, attack, and trigger abilities during the match.

What targeting modes can I set before an automatic battle?

Choose Closest to target the nearest enemy in range, Highest Damage to focus on the strongest threat, or Lowest HP to finish weakened enemies. Target choices can change as the battle shifts.

Does troop placement matter?

Yes. Adventures use a 10×6 hex grid, and you set up your half before battle. Range, role, and spacing affect outcomes; spreading troops out can reduce damage from area attacks such as a Catapult.

Does Arena damage affect Barracks HP?

No. Arena health is separate from adventure health, so Arena damage does not require Barracks recovery. Adventure troops that reach 0 HP do need to recover before returning to Dungeons or Treasure Island.

How do equipment and Barracks levels affect combat?

Each troop has six equipment slots. Equipment adds stats, matching Item Sets grant extra bonuses, and Barracks level contributes a stat bonus to your army.

What if my Barracks is full when I receive a troop drop?

A troop drop cannot be stored if your Barracks is already at capacity, so the new troop is lost. Keep a free slot before adventures where troop drops are possible.

Marketplace & Trading

What can I trade on the Marketplace?

Players can make buy and sell offers for resources, troops, Lands, buildings, and items. The game also has dedicated shops, including the Lands, Stone, Iron, Troops, Items, Arena, Ember, and periodic Event Shops.

How much is the Marketplace fee?

The fee is 5% and applies to the seller only. For example, if you sell something for 100 CLEG, the buyer pays 100 CLEG and you receive 95 CLEG.

Do referral rewards reduce my friends’ sale proceeds?

No. The 1.5% referral trading perk is paid from the reward pool. Your invitees keep their full trade proceeds; the referral perk is separate.

Guilds & Referrals

What Barracks level do I need for a guild?

Barracks Level 6 or higher is required to join an existing guild. Creating a new guild requires Barracks Level 8 or higher.

How do guilds help with Treasure Island?

Guilds can coordinate cooperative raids for harder Treasure Island levels. Leaders schedule the raid and set troop and formation requirements; members contribute troops, and rewards scale with each player’s combat impact.

How do referral rewards work?

Referrers receive reward-pool perks: 5% on invitee deposits, 5% on building upgrades, 5% on hero or troop upgrades, and 1.5% on Marketplace trades. These perks do not reduce what friends earn.
